For 5 days straight I wore the same pair of boots.
On our trip to Hendersonville, North Carolina we did not rent a car but instead decided to experience the life of a small town entirely on foot (with some Ubers). Get to know the people, talk to the locals, walk their neighborhoods.
Because we wanted to walk everywhere, we needed a good pair of durable and comfortable shoes.
Onto Shoe Carnival we went.
Stacey ended up buying Timberland boots and I decided to go with big-ass Caterpillar Steel Toe Boots.
The boots were heavier than most shoes, weighing in at 4lbs total. Stacey kept telling me "They are too heavy. I'll have to carry you back."
But I wanted heavy duty shoes. Something for walking durability in the suburban wilderness of Hendersonville and also for kicking protection. I wanted to make sure a well-placed shin kick was enough to - well you know…
We walked almost everywhere during our 5-day adventure.
We walked to Publix. 1.6 miles. We walked to Hendersonville Downtown 3 different times (both ways), 1 mile each direction. We walked to Laurel Park and to Appalachian Coffee Company as well all up and down the neighborhoods.
These were the only shoes I wore the entire 5 days and they were very comfortable. Usually when you wear shoes for the first time they cause discomfort and calluses until you break them in. Not the case with these boots.
The boots are now the most comfortable pair of shoes we own. I'd buy them again.
I can't wait for another trip to take them with me and walk all over the town.
